REMOVING THE REAR AXLE
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Loosen:
• Rear axle ring nut set bolts “1”
3. Remove:
• Rear axle ring nut “2”
TIP
• Apply the brake pedal so that the rear axle
does not turn when loosening the nut.
• Use the PTT wrench 46 or axle nut wrench
(46 mm) “3”.
4. Elevate the rear wheels by placing a suit-
able stand under the frame.
5. Remove:
• Rear wheels
• Wheel hubs
• Rear axle ring nut
• Conical spring washer
6. Remove:
• Rear axle “1”

• Never directly tap the axle end with a
hammer, since this will result in damage
to the axle thread and spline.
• Attach a suitable socket “2” on the axle
end and tap it with a soft hammer, then
pull out the rear axle to the right.

CHECKING THE REAR AXLE
1. Check:
• Rear axle runout “a”
Out of specification → Replace.

Do not attempt to straighten a bent axle.
