3. Position the jack lift head at the jack location
nearest the flat tire. The front location is about
7 inches (17.8 cm) rearward from the front wheel
opening. The rear location is about 2 inches
(5.1 cm) forward of the rear wheel opening.
Make sure the jack head is touching the metal
jacking flange under the body. Do not place the
jack under the plastic body panel.
4. Put the compact spare tire near you.
{CAUTION:
Getting under a vehicle when it is jacked up is
dangerous. If the vehicle slips off the jack you
could be badly injured or killed. Never get under
a vehicle when it is supported only by a jack.
{CAUTION:
Raising your vehicle with the jack improperly
positioned can damage the vehicle and even
make the vehicle fall. To help avoid personal
injury and vehicle damage, be sure to fit the
jack lift head into the proper location before
raising the vehicle.
5. Raise the vehicle by turning the jack handle
clockwise. Raise the vehicle far enough off the
ground so there is enough room for the compact
spare tire to fit under the vehicle.
6. Remove all of the wheel nuts.
