Engine Oil
Oil Check (TM)
1. Position the vehicle on a level
surface.
2. Start the engine and let it idle for
20-30 seconds.
3. Stop the engine and remove the
seat as described on page 27.
Remove the service panel (1) by
pulling upward.
4. Remove the dipstick (2) and wipe
it dry with a clean cloth.
5. Replace the dipstick and seat it
completely.
6. Remove the dipstick and check to see
that the oil level is between the FULL
(3) and ADD (4) marks. Add oil
through the oil filler hole (5) as needed.
Do not overfill.
NOTE: A rising oil level bet ween checks
in cool weather driving can indicate
moisture c o llecting in the oil reservoir.
If the oil level is over the full mark,
change the oil.
