OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Make sure the Engine’s Crankcase is lled with approximately 20 ounces of 1.
10-30W automotive oil. Also, make sure the Engine’s Fuel Tank is lled with
approximately 1/2 gallon of unleaded gasoline before attempting to start the
Engine. Failure to do so WILL damage the Engine and void the Warranty.
To do so, check to make sure the Drain Plug (13 - page 13) is tight. Then unscrew 2.
and remove the Dipstick (2 - page 13) from the Filler (4 - page 13). Pour the re-
quired amount of oil into the Filler. Then screw the Dipstick back into the Filler.
(See Figure C, next page.)
Unscrew and remove the Fuel Filler Cap (2 - page 18) from the Fuel Tank (8 - page 3.
18). Pour the required amount of unleaded gasoline (mid to high octane) into the
Fuel Tank. Then screw the Fuel Filler Cap back onto the Fuel Tank.
(See Figure D, next page.)
To start the Engine, check to make sure the transmission (if applicable) of the power 4.
equipment unit is in “NEUTRAL” or “PARK”. When starting, the Engine MUST
NOT be under a load.
Turn the Fuel Lever of the Engine to its 5. “OPEN” position.
(See Figure E, next page.)
Move the power equipment unit’s Throttle Cable Lever to its 6. “START” or “CHOKE”
position. NOTE: No choke is required if the Engine is warm. Move the Throttle
Cable Lever to its “RUN” position when starting a warm Engine.
