any lintthat may haveaccumu-
lated. No tools are needed,simply
grasp agitator withboth hands and
pull straightup sharply.The
slotted sectionat the top of the
metal shaft has a lightcoatingof
lubricant to preventparts sticking
together.If this area appearsto be
dry, applya lightcoat of greaseor
Petroleum Jellyaround the slotted
sectionof the shaft before
replacingthe agitator.Do not
overgrease.Excessgreasemay get
into clothesload.
When replacingthe agitator,
carefullylowerstraightdown onto
the shaft so that it fits into the
slots. Then apply downward
pressureuntilagitator snapsinto
its normal position.

pan witha stiff bristlebrush while
flushingwithrunningwater.
