WARNING! Do not use child safety seats or child boosters cushions/backrests in the front passenger's
seat. We also recommend that children who have outgrown these devices sit in the rear seat with the
seat belt properly fastened.
In order for the SRS system to provide the protection intended, seat belts should be worn at all times.
General SRS information
In a collision where deployment occurs, the air bags and seat belt tensioners activate. Some noise occurs
and a small amount of powder is released. This powder is not harmful and does not indicate fire. Several
air bag components get hot after inflation. Do not attempt to touch them.
NOTE: Deployment of SRS components occurs only one time during an accident.
If you are involved in an accident which has resulted in air bag deployment, we recommend the
following:
- Have the car towed to an authorized Volvo dealer or collision repair shop. Even if the car is driveable
after an accident, we do NOT recommend driving the car with deployed air bags.
