Driving Safely

Avoid parking on an incline if possible. If it’s unavoidable, follow
these precautions:
1. Place the transmission in gear.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Block the rear wheels on the downhill side.
WARNING
A rolling vehicle can cause property damage and serious injury.
Always apply the parking br ake after stopping t he engine. Always
block the downhill side of the wheels if leaving the vehicle on a
hill, or park the vehicle in a sidehill position instead.
Operating the vehicle while the parking br ake is engaged could
cause loss of control and result in serious injury or death. Always
disengage the parking brake bef ore operating the vehicle.
