Cooling System
Radiator Coolant
To ensure that the coolant maintains its ability to protect the engine,
Polaris recommends that you drain the system completely every two
years and add a fresh mixture of antifreeze and water.
Replace the coolant any time the cooling system has been drained for
maintenance or repair. If the recovery bottle has run dry, check the level
in the radiator. Add coolant as needed.
Escaping steam can cause burns. Never remove the pressure cap while the
engine is warm or hot. Always allow the engine to cool before removing the
pressure cap.
1. Remove the front panel to access
the radiator pressure cap.
2. Remove the pressure cap.
3. If coolant is low, use a funnel and
slowly add coolant through the
radiator filler neck.
4. Reinstall the pressure cap. Use of
a non-standard pressure cap will
not allow the recovery system to
function properly. Contact your
dealer for the correct replacement
part.
5. Secure the front panel.
6. Fill the coolant recovery bottle to
the upper mark on the bottle.
7. Check the coolant level in the bottle frequently, adding coolant as
needed until the level stabilizes.
