Chapter 4: Antenna Position
The antenna on the Magellan RoadMate 860T is designed in such a way as to receive the satellite signal at the front face of
the antenna. It is important to angle the antenna so that the front face is mostly toward the sky. Ideally in most vehicles, the
antenna should be rotated to approximately 90° from the unit to receive the best possible satellite signal.
The antenna positioning shown above should be used whenever an external antenna is not being used. If an external
antenna is attached to the enhanced cradle, the antenna should be put in the down position against the body of the
