Kenwood Wireless Link Operation
Starting procedure
By using the Wi-Fi function, media files can
be shared with another media server device
or client (player) device.
Preparation
• Turn on the function of Wi-Fi connection to a
media server device or client device.
About Network connection
There are two types of network to connect to
the media server device or the client (player)
device.
Wi-Fi access: The internet device that becomes the
Wi-Fi access point is necessary. Smartphone and
tablet PC can be connected through the Wi-Fi access
point. See Wi-Fi Setup (P.32).
–You cannot listen to music or watch video in the
smartphone when its tethering function is in use.

Wi-Fi hotspot: This unit becomes the Wi-Fi access
point and can connect with smartphone and tablet
PC. See Wi-Fi Hotspot Setup (P.34).

Media Server function
Plays the content stored in the USB memory
or SD card connected to this unit via another
network media player (client device).
• We confirmed normal operation using the following
network media players (software):
• Windows Media Player 12
Media Player function
Plays the content stored in another media
server device via this unit.
• We confirmed normal operation using the following
media servers (software):
• Windows Media Player 12
Media Controller function
Allows you to handle the content stored in
another media server device via this unit and
play them on another network media player
(client device).
Media Renderer function
Plays the content being operated on another
media controller through this unit.
Available content
Content that can be delivered or played by
this unit are as follows:
• Audio file: MP3 (.mp3), AAC-LC (.m4a/ .aac), WMA
(.wma), WAV (.wav), FLAC (.flac)
• Video file: MPEG-1/2 (.mpg/ .mpeg/ .m2p), MPEG-4
(.mp4/ .m4v), WMV (.wmv/ .m2ts), MKV
(.mkv)
• Copyrighted content cannot be played.
