Attaching Occupant Protection Structure To Vehicle
(Refer to illustrations on following pages)
Remove occupant protection structure from shipping bundle and
arrange weldments around the vehicle. Loosen all fasteners before
beginning assembly.
Disconnect the front cross member from one front side frame mem-
ber so the front frame weldments can be positioned independently
from each other.
With the hood fully opened, position one of the front frame weld-
ments into position and loosely bolt into place using 1/2 x 3” bolts and
locknuts. Place opposite side frame weldment into position and fas-
ten loosely into place.
Reposition the cross member and replace the bolts that were previ-
ously removed.
With rear components assembled as shown below, place bottom
mounting plates into position on frame and join with front frame mem-
bers. Fasten mounting plates to frame with 5/8 x 3” bolts and lock-
nuts.
Fasten bottom panel to frame with 3/8 x 1” bolts and locknuts. Once
the complete cab frame is in place securely tighten all fasteners.
Install seat belts to mounting locations on frame as shown in illustra-
tions on next page.
Place seat back against rear of cab frame with the five studs extending
through the matching mounting holes. Fasten to frame using 5/16” flat-
washers and locknuts.
