2.6.3 DESCRIPTIONS OF THE SERVSWITCH MULTI BASE UNIT AND MX AND THEIR COMPONENTS
The front panel of a ServSwitch Multi Base Unit (KV150A-R2) or ServSwitch Multi MX (KV155A) has nine
connectors (shown in Figure 2-2), one for each of these peripheral types:
PS/2 keyboard
PS/2 mouse
Serial mouse
Macintosh (Apple Desktop Bus) mouse and keyboard
Sun mouse and keyboard
VGA video
RS-232 serial-port device
Microphone
Speakers
You can use these connectors to attach a keyboard, monitor, and mouse (and optionally a microphone,
speakers, and serial device) to the Switch’s front panel. Any peripherals attached to the front of a Base Unit or
MX together constitute its local console (user station). Through these peripherals, you can access every
computer attached to the Switch. (However, the local console has no on-screen display.)
