Parking Brake
To set the parking brake,
hold the regular brake pedal
down with the right foot.
Push down on the parking
brake pedal, located to the
left of the regular brake
pedal near the driver’s door,
with the left foot.
To release the parking brake, hold the regular brake
pedal down with the right foot and push the parking
brake pedal with the left foot. When you lift the left
foot, the parking brake pedal will follow it to the
released position.
NOTICE:
Driving with the parking brake on can cause the
rear brakes to overheat. You may have to replace
them, and you could also damage other parts of
the vehicle.
If you are towing a trailer and parking on a hill, see
“Towing a Trailer” in the Index. That section shows
what to do first to keep the trailer from moving.
