MAINTENANCE
Toe Alignment
Use the following procedure to check the toe alignment of the vehicle.
The recommended toe alignment is 1/8" to 1/4" (3-6 mm) toe out.
WARNING! Severe injury or death can result from improper toe alignment and
adjustment. Do not attempt to adjust tie rod alignment. All tie rod adjustments
should be performed by an authorized Polaris dealer.
1. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Set the handlebars in a straight-ahead position and secure them in
this position.
3. Place a chalk mark on the
center line of the front tires
approximately 10" (25.4 cm)
from the floor, or as close to
the hub/axle center line as
possible. Make sure both
marks are the same distance
from the floor.
4. Measure the distance
between the marks and
record the measurement (1).
5. Move the vehicle until the
chalk marks are at the rear of
the tires, even with the hub/
axle center line.
6. Measure the distance between the marks and record the
measurement (2).
7. Subtract measurement 2 from measurement 1. The difference is the
vehicle toe-out alignment.
8. If you discover improper alignment, see your Polaris dealer for ser-
vice.
