Combining and Using Pioneer AV Equipment
Used when DVD is operated
When the operation mode switch is set to “AUDIO” or “DVD”, you can operate the DVD
player.
In case of using the built-in DVD player of AVIC-9DVD, see the “Operation manual” of
AVIC-9DVD.
In case of using the built-in DVD player of AVIC-90DVD, see “Hardware manual” of AVIC-
90DVD.
You cannot play DVD-Video with the built-in DVD-ROM drive of AVIC-80DVD.
(9) Transmitter
Signals of the Remote Control are transmitted from
here.
(10) NEXT/PREV control
This is used to forward or rewind chapters when
operating a DVD player.
(11) Control stick and PLAY/PAUSE button
If you push the control stick up, playback starts.
Push the control stick to the left during playback for
fast reverse, and push to the right for fast forward.
When the control stick is pushed, voice operation is
activated. During voice operation, if you want to
cancel voice operation, push the control stick down.
(12) Joystick/OK button
Use this for selecting items on a menu screen or to
confirm a selection. (This is mainly used for naviga-
tion.)
(13) BACK button
Use this button to move back to a previous screen in
a default setting screen.
(14) Operation mode switch
Changes the remote control’s mode.
(15) VOL dial
When you turn the dial downwards, the volume
decreases. Turning it upwards increases the volume.
The volume of Pioneer Head Unit is adjusted. If the
dial is pressed, the volume is reduced to around 1/
10th of the volume (ATT function). When pressed
again, the volume returns to its previous level.
(16) MENU button
When the DVD is played, the route menu stored on the DVD is shown. When the DVD is
stopped, the default setting screen appears.
(17) TOP MENU button
The main menu stored in DVD is displayed.

(DETOUR) button
This button is used to stop the playback of the disc when playing DVD.
