Chapter 3: Using Advanced Features
You’ve mastered the basic features of your phone, but want to know all about the other
interesting and powerful features your phone has to offer. In this chapter, you’ll learn all about
those features that make your phone exciting to use, such as joining Microsoft® Outlook®
meetings with one tap of your finger, using your computer’s keyboard and mouse to handle
calls, viewing Web content, or monitoring other phone users to see when they’re available or
away from their desk.
This chapter shows you how to:
• Manage buddies
• Integrate with Microsoft Lync Server 2010
• View the browser
• Broadcast messages using Push-to-Talk and group paging
• Use the Calendar feature
• Use the Polycom Desktop Connector to link your computer keyboard and mouse to your
phone
• Log into other phones
• Lock your phone
• Access features with your login credentials
Note: Feature Availability
Your phone may not support all of the features described in this chapter. Check with your
system administrator to find out which features are available on your phone.
Using Buddy Lists
A Buddy list is a list of users/devices whose status—or presence—you can monitor. Users
update their presence setting, such as Be right back, Out to lunch, or Busy, and you can view
their status in real time from your Buddy list. You can also view your buddies’ status from Lines
view and Home view.
In this section, you’ll learn how to:
• Update your presence status
• Set up and manage a Buddy list
