Sound field and sound quality
You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these
sound field systems are used with some sources. If this
occurs, turn the sound field system off.

Enjoy a surround-like effect that broadens when playing discs
with surround effects. Sound seems to come from speakers
on either side of you.
Press [A.SRND] (main unit: [ADVANCED SURROUND]).
Each time you press the button:
1 Natural ) 2 Enhanced ) Off (factory preset)

Turning on the super sound equalizer gives you a more
powerful sound.
Press [S.SOUND EQ] (main unit: [SUPER SOUND EQ]).
The “S.SOUND EQ” indicator lights up.
≥To cancel
Press [S.SOUND EQ] (main unit: [SUPER SOUND EQ]) to
turn off the indicator.
Press [SOUND] (main unit: [SOUND EQ]).
Every time you press [SOUND] on the remote control:
MANUAL EQ -) HEAVY -) CLEAR -) SOFT

Every time you press [SOUND EQ] on the main unit:
HEAVY -) CLEAR -) SOFT -) DISCO

HEAVY : Adds punch to rock (factory preset).
CLEAR : Clarifies higher sounds.
SOFT : For background music.
DISCO : Reverberates sound to make you feel like you
are in a disco.
LIVE : Makes vocals more alive.
HALL : Expands sound to make you feel like you are
in a hall.
EQ-OFF : Canceled (no effect is added).
MANUAL EQ : (l see right)
≥To check the current setting
Press [SOUND] (main unit: [SOUND EQ]).
Create your own sound quality effects.
Remote control only
1 Press [SOUND] to select “MANUAL EQ”.
2 (Within 12 seconds)
Change the sound quality with the cursor buttons.
1 Select the sound range to be adjusted with [2, 1].

2 Adjust the level with [3, 4].
(j3 to i3)
Repeat step 2 to set the desired sound quality.
The original display is restored on the display panel in about 3
seconds.
≥To cancel
Press [SOUND] to select “EQ-OFF”.
The changes you make are stored and automatically recalled
the next time you select “MANUAL EQ”.
1 Press and hold [jSUBWOOFER]
(main unit: [SUBWOOFER]).
Current setting appears on the display.

2 While current setting is displayed
Press [jSUBWOOFER] to change the setting.
Every time you press the button:
SUB W1 ) SUB W2 ) SUB W3 (factory preset)

The setting will change only if you press [jSUBWOOFER]
right after the current setting is displayed.
