Motor Service
1. Protect from heat:
• Shadethemotorandcontrollerfromthesun.
• Anyenclosuremustbewellventilatedtopreventoverheating.Particularattentionshouldbepaid
tothemotorfancoverandthecoolingnsbetweenthedriveandthemotor.
• Provideamplecrossventilation.
2. Protect against dirt:
• Protectfromanyforeignmatterorsplashingwater.
• Donotstore(orspill)poolchemicalsnearthemotor.
• Avoidsweepingorstirringupdustnearthemotorwhileitisoperating.
• Ifamotorhasbeendamagedbydirtitvoidsthemotorwarranty.
3. Protect against moisture:
• Protectfromsplashingpoolwater.
• Protectfromtheweather.
• Protectfromlawnsprinklers.
• Ifamotorhasbecomewet-letitdrybeforeoperating.Donotallowthepumptooperateifithas
beenooded.
• Ifamotorhasbeendamagedbywateritvoidsthemotorwarranty.
Note: DO NOT wrap motor and controller with plastic or other air tight materials. The motor and
controller may be covered, but not wrapped in plastic, during a storm, for winter storage, etc., but
never when operating, or expecting operation.
Whenreplacingthemotor,becertainthatthemotorsupportiscorrectlypositionedtosupportthe
sizeofmotorbeinginstalled.

9. Ensurethatthelido-ringisproperlyplaced.Seattheclampandlid
thenturnclockwiseuntilthehandlesarehorizontalasshown.
10.Reconnectthecommunicationcabletothepumpifrequired.
11.SwitchthepowerONatthecircuitbreaker.Resetthepooltime
clocktothecorrecttime.
WARNING — FILTER OPERATES UNDER HIGH PRESSURE. WHEN
ANY PART OF THE CIRCULATING SYSTEM (e.g., LOCK RING,
PUMP, FILTER, VALVES, ETC.) IS SERVICED, AIR CAN ENTER
THE SYSTEM AND BECOME PRESSURIZED. PRESSURIZED
AIR CAN CAUSE THE LID TO BLOW OFF WHICH CAN RESULT IN
SEVERE INJURY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE. TO AVOID
THIS POTENTIAL HAZARD, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS.
12. Openthemanualairreliefvalveontopofthelter.
13. Standclearofthelter.PresstheStartbuttononthepump.
14. Bleedairfromthelteruntilasteadystreamofwatercomesout.
15. Closethemanualairreliefvalve.
