Battery
Battery Installation and C onnections
1. Set the battery in its holder.
2. Connect and tighten the red (positive) cable first.
3. Connect and tighten the black (negative) cable last.
4. Attach the hold-down strap.
5. Verify that cables are properly routed.
NOTE: When installing a new battery, make sure it’s fully charged prior to its initial use.
Using a ne w battery that has not been fully ch arged can da mage the battery and result in a
shorter life. It can also hinder vehicle performance. If rech arging is necessary, use a .5
amp battery charger.
Battery Storage
When the vehicle i s placed in storage for three months or more, the battery should be
removed, stored out of the sun in a cool, dry place and tested monthly. Before reusing, take
the battery to your dealer for testing and recharging on a .5 amp battery charger.
