Driving Downhill
When driving downhill, follow these precautions:
1. Avoid steep hills (25
° maximum).
2. Shift body weight uphill. Transfer your
weight to the rear of the vehicle.
3. Drive straight downhill.
4. Slow down. Excessive speed when traveling
downhill can cause loss of control.
5. Shift to the lowest gear possible while main-
taining a safe speed.
6. Do not apply the brakes abruptly when driv-
ing downhill. Apply the foot brake slightly to
aid in slowing.
