ENGINE BREAK-IN
With a basic understanding of how the snowmobile works, and with
close attention paid to maintenance tips, you will be ready to r ide.
Keep in mind these recommendations as well as those covered
throughout this manual.
Checking Engine Oil
Before checking or refilling engine
oil, be sure the engine is located on a
stable, level surface and stopped.
S Do not thread the gauge into the oil
filler (A) to check oil level.
S If the oil level is below the lower lev-
el line (B) on the dipstick, you must
add oil to the upper level (C) of the
dipstick. Use the table to determine
the proper oil.
S Change the oil if it is contaminated.
S Use class SE, SF (APIclassification)
or higher grade oil.
S If multi --grade oil is used, oil con-
sumption will increase when t he am-
bient temperature is high.
Use only Polaris Premium 4 All Season synthetic oil. Never
substitute or mix oil brands. Serious engine damage and
voiding of warranty can result.
