special timing or adjustment procedures.
This work should be performed by a Kohler
authorized service center.
Storage
If the engine will be out of service for two months or
more, follow these storage procedures:
1. Clean the exterior surfaces of the engine.
Řǯȱ ȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱȱ
operation. See Oil Change.
3. The engine must be run until the fuel tank is
completely emptied, or the gasoline must be
treated with a stabilizer to prevent deterioration.
If a stabilizer is used, follow the manufacturer's

instructions. Fill the tank with fresh gasoline and
ȱȱȱȱŘȬřȱȱȱȱ£ȱ
fuel has entered the carburetor.
Śǯȱ ȱȱȱǯȱȱȱȱȱ
engine oil into the spark plug hole. Reinstall the
plug, but do not connect the plug lead. Crank the
engine two or three revolutions.
śǯȱ ȱȱȱǯȱȱȱȱȱ
hole with your thumb and turn the engine over
until the piston is at the top of its stroke (pressure
against the thumb is greatest). Reinstall the spark
plug, but do not connect the spark plug lead.
6. Store the engine on a level surface in a clean, dry
place. Never store the unit where there is an open

heater or other appliances.
