With a 291-horsepower Vortec 4.2L engine, these SUVs can really haul. They have just the kind of torque required for
trailering, achieving 90 percent of peak torque from only 1600 up to 5600 rpm. The Vortec 5.3L V8, with fuel-saving
Active Fuel Management,
TM
standard in Denali models and available in Rainier, adds an extra measure of performance
when hauling heavier trailers.
These front-wheel-drive vehicles combine excellent fuel efficiency, passenger comfort and road manners with
trailer-towing capability.
NOTES:
• All of the above models include, as standard equipment, an integrated platform
hitch receiver on the rear bumper and a 7-pin wiring harness connector. The
cooling system includes all content required to attain the maximum trailer ratings.
• The trailer tongue weight should be 10-15% of the loaded trailer weight, up to a
maximum of 340 kg (750 lb.).
• Weight-carrying hitch limit is a 1814 kg (4000 lb.) trailer with 181 kg (400 lb.)
tongue weight.
• Weight-Distributing Hitch and Sway Control is required over 1814 kg (4000 lb.)
trailer weight.
• 4x4 models of Envoy and Denali can be flat-towed in the neutral position.
