SAFE DRIVING RULES
Teach Safety Rules to Children
Whilechildrencanquicklydeveloptheskillnecessarytodrivethis
vehicle,itisimportanttorememberthattheirjudgment skillsarestill
veryimmature.Unsuperviseddrivingbychildrencanleadtoserious
injury.Beforechildrenusethisvehicle,anadultshouldcarefully
evaluatethedrivingareaaswellasthechildren’sskilllevelandability
todrivethisvehiclesafely.Childrenarenotalwaysabletorecognize
oranticipatehazards,evenwhentheyhavebeentaughtaboutthem.
Thereisnoacceptablesubstitutefordirectadultsupervision.
Teachappropriatesafetyrulestoyourchildbeforeallowing
operationofthisvehicle.Theserulesshouldalsobereviewedwith
neighborhoodchildrenorotherplaymateswhowanttodrive
thisvehicle.
Riding Rules
Make sure children know and follow these rules for safe driving:
1.Alwayssitontheseat.
2.Alwayswearshoes.
3.Only1(one)rideratatime.Achildwhoisnotsittingontheseat
orwhoisstandingonthevehiclecouldfalloff,causeatip-overor
blockthedriver’sview.Achildcouldbeseriouslyinjured.
4.Donotallowanychildtodrivethevehicleinthestreetornear
moving(motorized)vehicles.
5.Donotallowanychildtodrivenearbodiesofwater(suchaspools
orcreeks),obstructions(suchasfurniture,lowtreelimbsorplay
equipment),ordrop-offs(suchasstairsordecks).
6.Donotallowanychildtodrivethevehicleinthedark.Achildcould
encounterunexpectedobstaclesandhaveanaccident.Operatethe
vehicleonlyinthedaytimeorawell-litarea.
 7.Donotallowyourchildtodriveonslopedorinclinedsurfaces.
Restrictyourchild’sdrivingtogenerallylevelgroundONLY!
8.Donotallowyourchildtodrivedownoracrossasteepslope.
-Thevehiclemaygainunsafespeed,evenifthepedalisreleased
tostop.
-Thevehiclemaytiltandtipover.
-Thewheelscouldlosetraction,causingthevehicletoslip.
 9.Donotallowyourchildtodriveupsteepinclines.Themotormay
stopandthevehiclecouldrollbackwardsatanunsafespeed.
10.Neverputanythingnearanymovingparts.Rotatingpartssuchas
motors,gearboxesandwheelscansnagfingers,hair,etc.,causing
seriousinjury.Donotallowoperationofthevehiclewhenitison
itssideorinanupside-downposition.
11.Donotoperatethevehiclenearflammablevapors(gasoline,
paint
thinner,acetone,liquidwax,etc.).Thevehicle’selectrical
switches,likemostelectricalswitches,emitaninternalsparkwhen
firstturnedonorturnedoff.Thepresenceofflammableliquids
orvaporscouldcauseanexplosionorafire.Keepallflammable
productsintightlysealedcontainersandawayfromthevehicle.
12.Donotallowachildtooperatethevehiclewithoutdirectadult
supervision.Topreventunsuperviseduseofthevehicle,disconnect
themotorharnessfromthebatterywhenthevehicleisnotinuse.
To disconnect the motor harness connector:
•Graspthebottomedgeofthegrillandliftthehood.
•Unplugthemotorharnessconnectorfromthebatteryconnector.
•Lowerthehoodand"snap"itintoplace.

 •DirectAdultSupervisionRequired
 •NeverRideatNight.
 •KeepChildrenWithinSafeRidingAreas.
Theseareasmustbe:
 -awayfromswimmingpoolsandother
bodiesofwatertopreventdrownings
 -generallyleveltopreventtipovers
 -awayfromsteps,cars,steepinclines,
roadsandalleys.
