TIRE MIXING
For best performance it is recommended that the same size
and type of tire be used on all four wheel positions. Casing
ply material and ply construction may vary as indicated on the
sidewall of the tire. All BFGoodrich
®
tires of the same size,
tread design, and type of ply construction are fully compatible.
Before mixing different types of tires in any configuration on
any vehicle, be sure to check the vehicle manufacturer’s
owner's manual for its recommendations.
It is especially important to check the vehicle
manufacturer’s owner's manual when mixing, matching
or replacing tires on 4-wheel drive vehicles, as this may
require special precautions.
WINTER DRIVING
Tires which meet the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA)
definition of snow tires are marked M/S, M+S, or M&S. On such
tires, this designation is molded into the sidewall. Tires
without this notation are not recommended for winter
driving.
While All-Season tires are designed to provide reliable
performance in moderate winter environment, the use
of four (4) winter tires is recommended for optimal
performance. Tires designated for use in severe
winter conditions are marked on at least one
sidewall with the letter “M” and “S” plus a
pictograph of a mountain with a snowflake on it.
TIRE ROTATION
To obtain maximum tire wear, it may be necessary to rotate
your tires. Monthly inspection for tire wear is recommended.
Your tires should be rotated at the first sign of a difference in
tread depth between front and rear tires. If any irregular
wear is found, the cause must be corrected to prevent further
excessive wear. This is true for all vehicles. Refer to your
vehicle owner's manual for instructions on tire rotation. If you
do not have an owner's manual for your vehicle, BFGoodrich
®
brand recommends rotating your tires every 6,000 to 8,000
miles.
To be in compliance with the terms and conditions of the
BFGoodrich
®
mileage tire treadwear coverage, you must have
your tires rotated every 7,500 miles and be able to document
each rotation. A page for recording the date and mileage at
the time of each rotation is provided at the back of this
booklet.
