Basic Operation
IMPORTANT: FOR RESIDENTS OF THE
STATE OF NEW YORK:
Effective January 1, 1993, section 399-u of
the general business law has been amended
by the state of New York. This amendment
states that any alarm system sold or installed
in the state of New York cannot be activated
unless there is direct physical contact with
the vehicle.
In order for this system to be used in the
state of New York, the warning mode chirps
must be turned OFF. When the warning
mode chirps are turned off, the system will
not chirp the siren when the outer sector is
violated or when the pre-warn of the impact
sensor is responded. However, although the
warning chirps are turned off, the system will
still flash the lights as a warning to step away
from the vehicle.
Turning the Warning/Pre-
Warn Chirps On and Off:
With the system disarmed and NOT in the
Valet mode, turn the valet/disarm switch on
and off rapidly three times. (This procedure
must be completed in five seconds.)
The siren will chirp to indicate the status of
the warning/pre-warn mode chirps. If the
siren chirps twice, it indicates that the
warning/pre-warn mode chirps have been
turned off. If the siren chirps three times, it
indicates that the warning/pre-warn mode
chirps have been turned on.
