6.3 Actions on Print Quality Problems
Below are given some possible print problem and possible cures.
z Overall print is lighter than normal print, fill area on graphics show blank
areas, white stripes appear in the printout, or small characters or hairlines do
not print sharp.

z Projections are dark or blurry (OHP film or transparency).
Toner has peeled off. (thick paper or label)
Printout is too glossy. (Plain paper)

Possible cause Action Page
A toner cartridge is becoming
empty.
This symptom may occur when print-
ing a large image. Replace the appro-
priate toner cartridge.

More than one sheet has been
picked.
Print again. –
The media is damaged or
extremely dry.
Use new print media fresh from its
package.

The media is not in compli-
ance with the printer’s specifi-
cations.
Use the media in compliance with the
printer’s specifications.

The media type specified on
the printer driver is incorrect.
Change the media type setting to the
correct one.

Save Toner is enabled on the
printer driver.
Turn off Save Toner. –
The print mode on the printer
driver is set to 600 dpi.
Set the print mode to 1200 dpi by
1200 dpi.
