Removal Procedure for JAM-C
The procedure for resolving JAM-C instructs you, after removing the
first jammed sheet, to search for more sheets. There may be cases when
a few sheets of media remain inside the printer. In some circumstances,
for example when a duplex unit has been fitted, it is possible to have
several sheets in the printer at different locations at the same time.
CAUTION! During and immediately after the printer’s operation, avoid touching
the fuser unit and the area around it because they remain hot enough to cause burns.
Turn off the printer and wait for 30 minutes or more. After the printer has fully
cooled, remove the jammed media.
1. Carefully pull the jammed media
toward yourself. If it comes easily
carry on pulling to remove it com-
pletely. Otherwise, stop pulling as it
may be torn.
2. Pull the lever on the Back cover to
unlock the back cover, and support
it as the back cover hinges opens
fully.
X Keep the top cover fully open.
3. Pull up the two green release levers.
Do not attempt to pull up the
jammed sheet yet. The toner
which has not been fixed may
adhere to the fuser unit, causing
print quality problems.
