CorrectingPrintMisalignment

Ifprintedverticallinesarewarpedorcolorsareoutofalignment,adjustthePrintheadalignment.Adjustthe

Printheadalignmentautomaticallyormanuallybyusingaprintedtestpattern.

AdjustingthePrintheadAlignmentAutomatically

Ifprintedverticallinesarewarpedorcolorsareoutofalignment,adjustthePrintheadalignment.Adjustthe

Printheadalignmentautomaticallyormanuallybyprintingandreadingatestpattern.

Therearetwomodesforautomaticadjustment:StandardAdj.andAdvancedAdj.StandardAdj.willx

mostslightimagedistortionorcolormisalignment,butifnot,tryAdvancedAdj.

Ifusingspecialmediaorprintingdoesnotimproveevenafterperformingautomaticadjustmentusing

advancedadjustment,trymanualadjustment.Forinstructionsonmanualadjustment,see“Adjustingthe

FollowthesestepsforstandardautomaticadjustmentofthePrinthead.

1.Whenusingsheets,havetwounusedsheetsA4/Letter-sizedorlargerreadywhenStandard

Adj.isselectedor8whenAdvancedAdj.isselected.

Whenusingaroll,loadaroll10inches(254mm)orwider.

•UseStandardAdj.ifyouhaveswitchedtoanothertypeofpaperorifyouwanttheboundaries

•UseAdvancedAdj.tone-tunethespacebetweennozzlesorcolorsifyouhaveswitchedthe

printheadorifyouwantprinteddocumentstoappearasvividaspossible.Werecommendusing

AdvancedAdj.forprintingatahigherlevelofimagequality.

•Alwaysmakesuretheloadedpapermatchesthemediatypesettingontheprinter.Adjustment

cannotbecompletedcorrectlyunlessthesettingvaluematchestheloadedpaper.

•Werecommendusingthetypeofpaperyouusemostoftenforadjustment.

•ThisfunctionisnotavailablewithCADTracingPaper,CADTranslucentMatteFilm,orCADClear

Film.Ifadjustmentisnotpossibleasexpectedusinghighlytransparentlmorsimilarmedia,try

anothertypeofmediaoradjustthePrintheadalignmentmanually.(→P.612)
