im having a problem with my air conditioning on a ...

im having a problem with my air conditioning on a polo 2013 model,when i press the button to switch it on it doesnt cum on(i already have the blower on). The blower does come on but the air conditioner doesnt cum on, iv checked the compressor pump plug and its plugged in nice n tight and the fuses are all ok.... please help
