can I drive my 1996 subaru outback legacy wagon in...

can I drive my 1996 subaru outback legacy wagon in 2 wheel drive full time or do I have to leave it in all wheel drive if it is optional? i HAVE A FUSE BOX THAT ALLOWS ME TO TAKE FUSE OUT AND BE IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE, PUT IT IN FOR AWD.
