I can't get my Nextar 43LT GPS to be recognized by...

I can't get my Nextar 43LT GPS to be recognized by my Windows Business Vista computer. Now I can't update with the Naviextras Toolbox program which asks me to connect the device. What can I do to get my computer to recognize my GPS? Thanks.
