hi i have lost my car key for my 2008 lexus gs450h...

hi i have lost my car key for my 2008 lexus gs450h i have been quoted £400 to get a new key and get it programmed but a friend has told me i can do it myself for cheaper by buying a devise and a blank key can you please advise me if this is true as i would like it done asap for cheap as possible
