After my 1266x was 'on the shelf' for a few years, I decided to try it again (batteries had been removed). When turned on, the machine constantly chirped, clipped and sounded off. Turning the disc controls did have an effect, but its impossible to use this way. Both disc circuits seem to work, as I can make out signals between the static, and pinpoint mode is unaffected and provides a clear smooth signal. The sensitivity control seems to have no effect, and in fact, an ohm meter was attached to the contact points using all combinations. While the button was up or pushed in, there was no change on the meter when the dial was turned in either direction. I'm thinking that's where the problem is, but would like to know any other suggestions... Thanks Terry
