0 It's possible you need to replace that entire positive battery cable. You have an older vehicle like mine. I have a 1996 Chevy and was having a similar issue. Turns out the Positive Battery Cable was corroded inside. The end looked ok, but once I cut it open there was too much corrosion. Those cables are about $14 to replace. I would replace it and go from there. Also, check the water in the battery. I'm not sure how old your battery is but mine was less than 3 years old and was already leaking water. I replaced the battery and the cable. One more thing though - Check your Negative battery cable. It has a grounding wire that should be grounded to the inside of your truck onto the frame. I thought mine was okay, but bc the Positive battery cable was corroded - I went ahead and replaced the Negative battery cable too. Opened it and it was corroded as well. New cables made all the difference. It does sound like you need to first replace Positive battery cable, then check grounding on Negative. May be a rusty bolt. Didn't think that would matter - but these older vehicles definitely have a personality all their own, in my opinion. Changed Cable and Bolt, and changed my battery (bc of water leak-and it was over 3 yrs old) and no more issues. Hope this helps! =)
