The under the hood bulb on my 2002 chevy silverado...

The under the hood bulb on my 2002 chevy silverado 1500 was not illuminating so I bought a new one and replaced it....still does not work. is there a switch or something that manually turns it on or is it supposed to illuminate by itself when you pop the hood?

0 It should illuminate when you pop the hood. Have you checked all of the fuses on inside panel? My interior lights were not working and it was just a blown fuse.
