my Chevy Lumina mini van cranks but won't start I thought I ran out of gas but I put like 7 gallons of gas in it and it still won't start, I also tried jumping the vehicle and nothing. could it be the timing chain or belt if not what is the best way to self diagnose the problem without expensive towi g bills

0 I would check a few things. First, your battery. Make sure both positive and negative have a good connection and no corrosion on the lines. Also, make sure your negative ground cable is grounded to inside of frame. You can also take it to Autozone or O'Reillys and they will test your battery for free. Hopefully it's not your starter. I would also check your fuel pump and fuel pump filter. The filter could be clogged, or your fuel pump might've just given out or burned up. It's happened to me. Hope this helps.
