Recently purchased this vehicle and wanted to change oil and filter. Found the oil drain plug and drained the oil and attempted to locate the filter. Usually it is on the lower part of the engine near the pan but not able to locate it. Checked the manuals that they sell in the auto parts stores and all they say is that you have to remove the air cleaner to access the filter which would lead me to believe that the filter is on or near the top of the engine . . . . which I have never found to be the case before. These 3rd party manuals also show the oil drain on the side of the pan and mine is on the very bottom which makes me wonder if they know what they are talking about. Would appreciate any guidance that someone can provide as I don't look forward to crawling around poking in all parts of the engine compartment in sub-freezing temps just to locate it and finish the job.
