Setting Discrimination (Selecting
Notches)
Using only the discrimination of its two factory-set
operating modes, the GTAx 550 will more than satisfy
the requirements of almost every treasure hunter.
Many will never require any other discrimination.
Still, this detector offers more; it offers precise
controls that enable any treasure hunter to tailor a
detection mode to his or her specific requirements
by setting accept/reject notches.
The Lower Scale of the Graphic Display contains
segments. Those that are displayed represent
targets that will cause the detector's sound to
increase when they are detected. In Mode A for
instance, all segments shown indicate that every
metal target will cause the
GTAx 550 to respond
audibly. Specific notches can be created by adding
or removing targets from acceptance in either
operating mode.
Every target detected will always be indicated by the
target ID cursor.
