Proper Scanning Techniques
Swing the searchcoil back and forth in front of you in
a straight line. Keep the searchcoil moving at a rate
of about one to two feet per second. Because of the
sensitivity of the
GTAx 550 and its PROformance
searchcoil, it is not necessary to operate with the
searchcoil touching the ground. The recommended
operating method is to hold the coil at a constant
height about one or two inches above the ground.
Detection of a metal target will be indicated by an
increase in sound and indications on your display.

you have discovered a target of high conductivity,
probably a coin.
Locate your target precisely by scanning back and
forth over the target to determine where the signal
is the loudest.
