3.2 Introduction
The transmitter installation should be carried out as described in the Quick Installation Guide
that is enclosed with every transmitter. Even though the transmitter may be installed on the
bench, it must be configured to the actual process conditions. For the Rosemount GWR
transmitters, it is important not to bend the probe during any part of the installation. It may be
necessary to shorten the probe, mount a centering disk, or anchor the probe during the
mechanical installation. For more information, see the Rosemount 3300 and 5300 Reference
Manuals (Document No. 00809-0100-4811 and 00809-0100-4530).
For the Rosemount 5300 Series with QS Prior-Use option in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
refer to the Quick Installation Guide (Document No. 00825-0100-4530) and the Reference
Manual (Document No. 00809-0100-4530) for instructions. Beside these required steps, the
procedures below are recommended as best practices.
